A Day in the Life of a Program Manager
As a program manager in Medtronic's Patient Monitoring operating unit you will have overall accountability for execution of complex programs involving all four classes of trade (COTs). You will manage the day to day communication with the customers, related to ongoing and new development and integration projects and will have to work closely with the project managers and the project teams to ensure on time execution, per requirements. While the project team will be responsible for day to day execution of the projects you will work with Medtronic's customers to create SOWs, requirement documents and program plans for timeline and cost. You will be expected to resolve conflicts and challenges, that arise during execution of the program, and to represent the customer and the program with internal stakeholders. You will have overall accountability for delivering products per customer requirements and expectations, on a timely manner. Limited travel may be required
Essential responsibilities include the following:
Create SOW and requirement documents with customers
Create, maintain and report program schedule
Monitor and track progress continuously and report to management and other stakeholders
Be focal point for communication with the customer related to ongoing projects as well as potential new endeavors
Work with project teams across different Medtronic sites and time zones
Have high level view of the program and align the projects comprising it to ensure consistent delivery, across Medtronic technologies
Represent the customer and the program with internal stakeholders and ensure that priorities and resources are well placed to support both, and that there is alignment between the program and other, internal, activities.
Degree in electrical, mechanical or bio-medical engineering
At least 5 years in project and program management with progressively increasing responsibility (at least 2 years as program manager)
Proven track record of delivering projects and programs, on time, while meeting requirements
Product development experience in a highly regulated environment
Strong interpersonal skills – must be comfortable working with all levels in an organization and with customers
Strong communication skills
High proficiency in both written and spoken English and Hebrew
Experience and proficiency with MS office and MS project
Demonstrated planning and organizational skills
Experience and proven ability to operate in a matrix organization and work effectively with leadership, customers, and across geographic and organization boundaries
Nice to have:
Medical device experience is a strong plus
PMP certification by PMI is a plus
