Description of responsibilities / main tasks
 Design, model and layout silicon photonic components and circuits
 Drive tape-outs of silicon photonic devices with external design houses
 Define DOEs and conduct experiments to predict performance and validate models
 Work with the photonics test team in defining requirements for device
characterization, debug, and validation
 Analyze measurement data sets to determine device performance trends and
include learnings in your designs and models
 Engage in component benchmarking against alternative approaches and contribute
with innovative device designs
 Close cooperation with academic research groups
Requirements:
. MSc. in electro-optics / Material Eng./Physics – Ph.D. advantage
 3 years of practical experience in research and development of electro-optic systems

 Photonics chip design tool – Must. Cadence – Advantage
 Photonic Simulation SW Experience – Must. Lumerical – Advantage
 Strong understanding of planar waveguide optics, both passive components (tapers
waveguides, resonators, couplers, etc.) and active components (detectors,
modulators etc.)
 Hands on experience and understanding of photonic devices characterization setups
and methods.
 Coding: MATLAB, Python
 Background in control systems – an advantage
 Ability to work independently and in a team
 Excellent interpersonal
